Assessment Office:

The Clearfield County Assessment Office is located on the first floor of the Courthouse Annex. The Assessment Office is responsible for maintaining the records for all real estate parcels and the per capita tax rolls. If a member of the public would like information on real estate in Clearfield County this is the office they should contact. This Assessment Office can be contacted at 814-765-2641. Ext: 5997

Election and Voter Registration:

The Clearfield County Election and Voter Registration Office is located on the first floor of the Courthouse Annex. The Election and Voter Registration Office is responsible for maintain records of all legally registered voters within Clearfield County. The office also is responsible for supervising the Primary and General Elections held every year. This is the office a person would visit if they were interested in registering to vote or if they are interested in becoming a candidate for elective office. Tax Claim Bureau:

The Clearfield County Tax Claim Bureau is located on the first floor of the Courthouse Annex. The Tax Claim Bureau is responsible for the collection of delinquent real estate taxes. The office is also responsible for processing and mailing the various notices for the annual tax sale of delinquent properties. This is the office a person would visit if they are paying on delinquent taxes or if they are interested in obtaining information on delinquent tax properties that may be offered for sale. Public Defender:

The Public Defenders Office is located on the second floor of the Courthouse Annex and is responsible for providing legal representation in criminal trials to any person who meets the financial guidelines and cannot afford their own attorney. Please note that the public defender does not handle civil cases. The Public Defender can be contacted at 814-765-2641.Ext: 5989

Department of Probation Services:

The Clearfield County Department or Probation Services is located on the second floor of the Courthouse Annex. The office staff is responsible for monitoring the progress of over 2,000 clients per year. This office is also responsible for collecting the fines, costs and restitution payments that criminal defendants have been assessed. District Attorney:

The District Attorney Office is responsible for prosecuting criminal cases filed in the Clearfield County Court System. This office is located on the second floor of the Courthouse Annex and can be contacted at 814-765-2641.Ext: 5990

Victim / Witness Office:

The Victim / Witness Office was established to assist crime victims through the various steps of the criminal court system. The office which is located on the second floor of the Courthouse Annex is under the direction of Victim / Witness Coordinator Judy Shirey and can be reached at 814-765-2641.Ext: 5981

Controller's Office:

The Controller's Office is located on the second floor of the Courthouse Annex. The County Controller is responsible for all aspects of payroll and accounting for all county offices. Any person that is interested in employment with Clearfield County Government should visit this office. The Controller's Office can be contacted at 814-765-2641.Ext: 5991

Domestic Relations:

The Domestic Relations Office is responsible for the establishment and enforcement of child support and spousal support obligations. This office annually collects and disperses in excess of $6.5 million in support money from a caseload of over 7,000 active cases. The Domestic Relations Office is located on the third floor of the Courthouse Annex and can be contacted at 814-765-5339.

Court Administration:

The Clearfield County Court Administration Office is located on the second floor of the Courthouse and is responsible for all aspects of the court. One of the main duties the Court Administration Office performs is the coordination of jury duty with the elected Jury Commissioners. The Court Administration Office can be contacted at 814-765-2641. Law Library:

Clearfield County Courthouse has an extensive computerized law library system with 2 public access workstations located in the law library. The online law book CD's are provided by Westlaw and Sheppards and are updated on a regular basis. Some of the volumes available include Purdon's Pennsylvania Statutes, United States Code Annotated, West's Pennsylvania Digest, Goodrich Amram 2B and West's Federal Reporter. The law library is available for public use Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Register and Recorders Office:

The Register and Recorders Office is located on the first floor of the Courthouse and is the office where deeds, wills, marriage licenses and other legal forms are filed in order to be placed on legal record. This is the office where a person can find detailed information concerning property transactions and other legal transactions. Clearfield County provides two public access workstations for use in locating documents that are filed in the Register and Recorders Office. This office can be contacted at 814-765-2641. Ext: 5987

Prothonotary / Clerk of Courts Office:

The Prothonotary / Clerk of Courts Office is located on the first floor of the Courthouse. This office is responsible for all civil and criminal court-related documents. This office also performs several duties for the public including the issuing passport for foreign travel and swearing in of elected local officials. Treasurer's Office:

The Treasurer's Office is located on the first floor of the Courthouse. This office is responsible for the collection of almost all funds collected by Clearfield County Government. This office is also responsible to issue dog license, small games of chance license and boat license. The Treasurer's Office can be contacted at 814-765-2641. Ext: 5985

Sheriff's Office:

The Sheriff's Office is located on the first floor of the Courthouse. This office is mainly responsible for the transportation of prisoners, issuing gun permits, serving of legal papers and courtroom security. The Sheriff's Office can be contacted at 814-765-2641. Ext: 5986

GIS Department:

The GIS Department is responsible for coordinating all GIS related services with the County 911 Center, the Assessment Office and County Planning. This office is located on Locust Street in downtown Clearfield in the former Pennsylvania Job Service Building. The GIS Department is also responsible for assigning all new address within the county. Any person who is building a new home or establishing a new residence should contact the Clearfield County GIS Department. This department also has GIS data available for public use. Veteran's Affairs:

The Veteran's Affairs Office is located on the first floor of the Multi Service Center. The Veteran's Affairs Office is available to assist veterans or their family members with many issues including health care, grants for education and funeral information. The Clearfield County Veteran's Office also has available the Vet's Van which can be scheduled to transport veterans for medical services. The Veteran's Affairs Office can be contacted at 814-765-4611.

Children, Youth and Family Services:

The Children, Youth and Family Services office is located on the second floor of the Multi-Service Center. This department is responsible for investigating reports of child abuse and watching over the welfare of all at risk children in Clearfield County. This department can be contacted at 814-765-1541.
