Rails To Trails
Clearfield area offers a great opportunity for hiking and biking on Clearfield/Curwensville/Grampian Rails to Trails. The trail mainly follows along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River to Curwensville through thinly forested terrain. The portion of the trail also contains one large bridge crossing over the river that provides a beautiful view of the river and the surrounding hills and farm lands. Much of the five-mile section between Clearfield and Curwensville runs parallel to State Route 879 with several parking areas available. The trail then travels through the borough of Curwensville before traveling southwest to Grampian, and passes through a densely forested area close to Kratzer Run and ends in the borough of Grampian.
